Having others who believe in you makes a GIGANTIC difference, you are so right. It's exactly why I treasure my art friends to my very core. This holiday, we cut out opening gifts with our 4 kids plus 2 bonuses. We even cut out stocking gifts, and started the tradition of giving them advent calendars filled with smaller gifts for them to open in their own homes all through December- a small treat each day to let them know we thought of them. I'm really looking forward to spending the 25th just enjoying their company with food and games. Sorry this is a little long, but your post went straight to me today🫶. As I have aged (73), and the world and I have evolved, this season is one of quiet introspection and communion with the natural world……where God resides. The shallow tidal creek outside my window is gifting me a display of 4 pairs of Merganzers right now. Up from 2 pairs yesterday. Internet posts about developing keen interest in birds later in life are accurate. 10/10!!! ☮️💙🌴🐾🐾

Soooo, I’m looking forward to the Christmas markets (the food + gluhwein) and our week-away road trip to France — and eating croissants every day! I’ll be painting in my sketchbook and watching Stranger Things!! And of course calling my mum and my family back in Oz, plus keeping the tradition of opening my presents on Christmas Eve 🪅🎄
